Who is Mr. Edgar Riches?
Edgar Riches, a man known for raising ‘hundreds of thousands of pounds’ in overseas aid, dies through a tragic accident in Nairobi. Mr. Riches had volunteered in Catholic Aid Charity, CAFOD, for the past 35 years. The Kenyan presidential convoy struck the retired banker on the main road in the capital as President Ruto goes on a tour in Nairobi.
Mr Riches left dead by the Kenyan Presidential Convoy
Edger Riches is reported to have been paying a family visit in Kenya for the last two weeks. After the tragic incident, Mr. Riches lay dead, as the Kenyan presidential convoy proceeded with the tour.
The police claim that they had launched an investigation. Further, they arrested the driver of the purported vehicle that featured in the convoy. The reported vehicle belonged to the regional administration.

However, Kenya’s president proceeded with an engagement with a crowd an hour later. The President joked about his new El Chapo nickname. This name emerged as the President in earlier days promised students a Chapati making machine. A machine that can make a million chapatis per day.
Mr. Riches served as a parishioner of St Joseph and St. Walburga’s Catholic Church in Poole.
Also, Mr Riches received a papal blessing in 2019, from Pope Francis. Also, Mr. Riches got an award for volunteering in charitable work. The award came from Mark O’Toole, who by then the Bishop of Plymouth.
As per the video clips that show the aftermath of this astonishing incident, an elderly man lies on the ground. Additionally, the man bled profusely and got covered by a blanket.
The case’s progress
Nevertheless, the police spokesman, Michael Muchiri, reported: “Investigations are underway, and the vehicle has been inspected. The driver of the government motor vehicle, attached to the Nairobi regional coordinator’s office, is out on cash bail awaiting arraignment in court.”
A foreign spokesman reports: “We are supporting the family of a British man who died in Kenya, and are in contact with the local authorities.”
