According to the president, Gachagua started having unnecessary arguments and misunderstandings with government officials. The president claims that cases of disputes came to him time to time.

The president emphasized, “I sat him down and told him, ‘You’re the deputy president. Why are you dealing with them (Ndindi Nyoro and Itumbi)? Just work!” Furthermore, Ruto claims Gachagua   threatened members of parliament for declining to bow to him.

Moreover, William Ruto reports that Gachagua failed to focus on and support government projects. “The deputy president’s main role is to help the president. When I was DP, I was the person to defend the programs like roads and hospitals. I went to more TV stations more times than the president himself because it is the DP’s job to profile the president’s work.”

Additionally, the president asserted, “Have you ever seen Rigathi defend the government’s project one time? For 2 years, he never stepped to any station or public place to speak on government projects.”

According to the president, Gachagua’s character and stand remained questionable. According to the president, Gachagua had to actively defend and give account of government projects. Questioning Gachagua on the same resulted in a strain and fallout in their relationship.

In the speech from President Ruto, he distances himself from being involved in the impeachment of Gachagua. Ruto claims that he tried to tone down the MPS from tabling down the impeachment twice. His efforts got overwhelmed, and this led to the impeachment.

After the impeachment, Ruto alleges Gachagua and his allies vowed to make him a one-term president. The president speaks right before his five-day tour in the Mount Kenya region.
